Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri have not set out to reinvent the house of Valentino, but they have definitely opened a few windows. For resort, the breath of fresh air came in the form of a series of white embroidered lace dresses — both long and short — that carried the weight of their extreme workmanship with the lightness of a handkerchief.

A nod to Banksy from one of my favorite street artists - Olek. Olek talked about this particular work on her website:
“After crocheting the first readymade, I decided to pay homage to Marcel Duchamp and so I crocheted the bike wheel on the stool. Recently, I was referred to as a street artist by the press and public. I wanted to pay my respect to one of the most iconic figures of the street art movement. I am placing a series of The girl with the balloons image coinciding with the Oscars as support for Banksy’s movie. What is authentic? Did he intend to do a mockery of the art world by being a Mr. BW?” Agata Olek

Went out for Saturday night ice cream + wine with a few old friends. Exactly like old times, except that now we’re all old enough to sit around wine bars while pondering where to go next in our lives all over the world. Also made friends with the cute waiter :)
