In New York City, few things are more rare or striking than empty space. Record the names, make the space beautiful, have it open to all, but leave it empty. No museum, no interpretive center, no tourist destination.One day a year, every year, bring in the tribute in light.
So much time and so much anger has gone into the discussion about what should be at “ground zero” that it’s easy to lose sight of the key:what is no longer there.Let emptiness be emptiness.
